§ 4-4. Duty of Animal Control Officers generally.

  • (a)

    The Animal Control Officers shall be responsible for enforcement of this chapter of the Lake County Code and the provisions of the Florida Statutes relating to animal control and welfare, other than the misdemeanor provisions thereof.

    (b)

    The Animal Control Officers shall investigate formal complaints of alleged violations of this chapter, provide all notices to affected animal owners requiring that violations cease or be corrected, and take appropriate action as is reasonably necessary to accomplish the purposes of this chapter.

    (c)

    Animal Control Officers shall have the same powers and limitations as code enforcement officers prescribed by Chapter 8 of this Code and by F.S. Ch. 162.
