Division 4. LAKE COUNTY ENTERPRISE ZONE DEVELOPMENT AGENCY |
§ 2-90.1. Duties.
(a)
The agency shall have the following powers and responsibilities:
(1)
To assist in the development, implementation, and annual review and update of the strategic plan or measurable goals.
(2)
To oversee and monitor the implementation of the strategic plan or measurable goals. The agency shall make quarterly reports to the Lake County Board of County Commissioners and the City Councils of Eustis, Leesburg and Mascotte, evaluating the progress in implementing the strategic plan or measurable goals.
(3)
To identify and recommend ways to remove regulatory barriers to the Lake County Board of County Commissioners and the City Councils of Eustis, Leesburg and Mascotte.
(4)
To identify the financial needs of, and local resources or assistance available to, eligible businesses in the Lake County Enterprise Zone.
(5)
To assist in promoting enterprise zone incentives to residents and businesses within the Lake County Enterprise Zone.
(6)
To recommend boundary changes, as appropriate, in the Lake County Enterprise Zone to the Lake County Board of County Commissioners and the City Councils of Eustis, Leesburg and Mascotte.
(7)
To work with organizations affiliated with Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, the University of Florida, and the University of South Florida, a group of universities unofficially named the "University Partnership for Community Development," or similar organizations that have combined their resources to provide development consulting on a nonprofit basis.

To work with Enterprise Florida, Inc. and the State Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development.
