§ 11-201. Authorized; persons eligible for admission; tax authorized.

  • The Board of County Commissioners of Lake County shall have the power and authority to purchase, construct, erect, lease, remodel, establish, equip maintain, improve and either operate itself, or lease out to others to operate, homes with the right to provide therein complete medical facilities for the aged or indigent adult citizens of Lake County who have actually resided in Lake County for a total of over three (3) continuous years immediately preceding application for admission, and who meet the other requirements prescribed by this act [article] and by said county commissioners. Said county commissioners shall have power to expend public funds for such purposes and power to borrow money for such purposes, and power to levy an ad valorem tax therefor not to exceed one (1) mill.
